Trying to be more frequent

Trying to be more frequent

Okay, so I have let this site get covered with moss and I’m going to take measures to fix that. First I’m going to start posting something once a week. Probably on a Monday or a Wednesday as that is when I’m pretty much always free. Secondly I’ll be posting a bit more on social media in regards to things I make, whether that be a sketch, a software update or a full-blown design. Recently I have taken up tertiary…

Some Screenshots! Finally!

Some Screenshots! Finally!

So I have finally taken some screenshots from the MiniVoid Game. Still working on the flight controls, which are constantly falling apart and I don’t know why, and when that is stable enough I’ll be looking at an inventory or perhaps changing ships and stats. But for now here are two screenshots that show just how little is in this game.

Code is painful.

Code is painful.

I have been having problems with the flight mechanics recently. I get it working nicely and everything plays well, but then I change something to do with the interface and the flight controls go nutso again. The odd thing is they have nothing to do with each other. I’ll keep working until I have figured it out.

Portfolio

Portfolio

I have just activated the Portfolio option. I will use this primarily for professional purposes but I will allow public read access because why not? Feel free to check it out and let me know what you think about my various projects!

On Fire!

On Fire!

I was able to roll over a bunch of items on my To Do list. I got the Central HUB of the game world to be instantiated on server creation, fixed a physics issue with the crafts (flight was thus far done using translation and no physics so collisions didn’t really work), made the craft the player is flying interchangeable, and finalized the basic networking so now it looks fairly decent when playing with others. I’ll throw up some screenshots…

MiniVoid Network Functionality

MiniVoid Network Functionality

I have added networking into my MiniVoid game. It was easier than expected. Unity3D is a great and simple tool. I have also started using git repositories for my projects so I can work on different branches of them without disrupting others. I wish I had started this sooner. I have also started documentation on another project and designs for yet another. My mind wanders way too much. I’ll keep bouncing around and eventually I’ll finish something.

Team Work!

Team Work!

Recently one of my friends said a couple of us should make a game together so that is what we are doing. Currently we are getting everything sorted, all the software and what not that we need and planning what game we are going to make. We are really excited…

The last month, in the small amount of time I had, I have been transcribing my project documentation into a much better format. The previous incarnation of the documents was simple uniformly formatted MS Word docs that contained all the data in headings and paragraphs. They looked nice but could be confusing to read and were not ordered. So I have started moving them into OneNote files which allow me to not only organise the data in much easier to…

Branding and Planning.

Branding and Planning.

Over the past week I have made a few mockups of icons and banners for my various social media sites as well as this site. They are pretty crude at the moment but I didn’t want to spend to long messing around with them because while that would make me feel productive, it certainly isn’t. Over the next few weeks I plan to put up a few of my older projects. This will include a few items of completed artwork…

Hi everyone! This site has been set up for me to post and share everything I create. It was once circleinteractive.net but two issues occurred. A UK company started using the name and I wanted to post more than just interactive things. I decided to use MiniVoid because I already owned the domain for a project I was working on and it just sounded really nice. I will probably still develop that project under the name MiniVoid so keep an…
